Skiing in Finland

Spent a few days skiing in Suomu, which is in north eastern Finland, approximately 120km east of Rovaniemi, which is the capital city of Lapland and on the Arctic Circle.

The tranquillity and peace is something quite special with very little traffic, and it happened that for the first few days, the ski slopes were virtually empty, as this was just before the Finnish ski holidays began.

The slopes at Suomu are some of the best in Finland, and although the resort is not too commercial, it is a great place for the family, with plenty of activities available.

Suomutunturi hotel has recently had new owners, with a massive investment in the hotel and infrastructure - already some of the rooms have been totally refurbished, with more being completed this year
