Spent a few days skiing in Suomu, which is in north eastern Finland, approximately 120km east of Rovaniemi, which is the capital city of Lapland and on the Arctic Circle.
The tranquillity and peace is something quite special with very little traffic, and it happened that for the first few days, the ski slopes were virtually empty, as this was just before the Finnish ski holidays began.
Suomutunturi hotel has recently had new owners, with a massive investment in the hotel and infrastructure - already some of the rooms have been totally refurbished, with more being completed this year.
